Message from the Founder - Jan Blacktopp
I have always had the belief that nature heals. Discovering a special part of nature and the best ways to use it for improving health has taken me on a very long journey.
Being an avid reader and one who is very curious and believes in "ask and you shall receive", I have always taken the opportunity to learn and share what I have experienced. One thing that I was taught at an early age was "nourish the body and it can heal itself".
When I took a course called "Herb Walk in Northern Ontario", everything changed for me. It seemed that the sky opened and my destiny was shown to me. I learned how to identify plants, roots, leaves and trees that can heal. I learned how to make tea, salves, ointments and face creams using the tools from my kitchen.
Natural creams, lotions and soaps became my passion. It made sense to me to use food grade ingredients to ensure that our skin care products would best nourish the body. When my family purchased land that contained a very unique and rare herbal deposit called Moor we had laboratory analysis performed at several Universities. The studies showed the high nutrient value of the Moor and I decided that I had to find a way to share these products with the world. We created Blacktopp Moor Naturals.
Our business concept is pretty simple yet very close to my heart:
